Clean Solar launches Salad Bar Program at Daves Elementary

Thursday, December 4, 2104 was an exciting date as Clean Solar held its first ribbon cutting of the 8 salad bars we donated to local elementary schools throughout San Jose, at Daves Elementary School in Monte Sereno.  Giving back to local charities and organizations is an integral part of our business model as well as our corporate social responsibility.  To date, Clean Solar has donated over $160,000 to local charities and non-profit organizations.

Giving back to local children’s health and nutrition via salad bars will increase their access and consumption of fresh fruit and vegetables every day.  And they can appreciate that it is the sun, along with air, water and nutrients that helped all the food in their new salad bars to grow!

Clean Solar is very proud to have partnered with the Silicon Valley Leadership Group to donate eight salad bars to support State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Torlakson’s “Team California for Healthy Kids” and the national “Let’s Move Salad Bars to Schools” initiatives, part of First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move! Initiative.

Presenters at the Daves Elementary School Ribbon Cutting included:

Carl Guardino, CEO, Silicon Valley Leadership Group

Leslie Gaynor, Marketing Director, Clean Solar

Kit Bragg, School Principal

Diana G. Abbati, Ed.D., Superintendent, Los Gatos Union School District

Kathy Bayes, Los Gatos Union School District Board Member
