Shout Out For Solar Day

Tomorrow, January 16th, is the 2nd annual National Shout Out For Solar Day. So why is everyone shouting? The U.S. solar industry’s installation capacity grew 40 percent in 2014 and is now employing 143,000 people in the country. But despite an incredible year in growth, there are still many roadblocks to overcome, especially in terms of adoption and legislation. That’s why it’s more important than ever to raise awareness by “shouting out” for solar…and here’s how you can have fun and participate.

Hundreds of thousands are expected to “shout” this year in the virtual event organized by the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA), of which Clean Solar CEO Randy Zechman is the Bay Area Chapter President of their CALSEIA branch. The event coincides with SEIA’s 41st anniversary as a “voice” of solar for America. SEIA has also released a fact sheet on the current status of solar just for the occasion.

You can raise awareness by downloading your favorite “Support Solar” pictures and uploading them to social media with the hashtag #GoSolar, it’s a small step, but it’s towards a big goal. Make sure your pictures are creative! Check out last year’s blog to see how much fun Clean Solar employees had. Think you can top that?
