Clean Solar listed as a CoolCalifornia Small Business Climate Leader

Clean Solar has recently been named a Small Business Climate Leader by CoolCalifornia. The very nature of Clean Solar’s business is to save Bay Area home and business owners money on their electricity bills by generating their own clean, renewable solar power. This subsequently reduces a home or businesses’ greenhouse gas emissions. Aligning with their philosophy, Clean Solar has also made tremendous strides to reduce their own emissions as a business and has now been honored as a 2016 CoolCalifornia Small Business Climate Leader.

The CoolCalifornia Small Business Awards were first organized in 2009 to recognize the efforts that California’s small businesses have taken to reduce their own greenhouse gas emissions. The “Climate Leader” award, specifically, is presented to those businesses that were proactive in reducing emissions and described the exact efforts the business has taken. Many businesses, including Clean Solar, have leveraged the tools on CoolCalifornia’s website to determine their approximate carbon footprint and research methods to reduce their emissions and save money. Clean Solar’s footprint is 43% better than similar businesses.

Solar is one of the few industries where there is also an environmental benefit as a byproduct of saving customers money. These values, however, do not only apply towards customers going solar. Naturally, as a solar installer, Clean Solar is very conscious of their own greenhouse gas emissions and have reduced their emissions by purchasing recycled office supplies, planning vehicle fleet trips for optimal fuel efficiency, and reducing waste.

An awards ceremony will be hosted on March 2nd, 2016, to honor this year’s recipients and Clean Solar CEO Randy Zechman will be in attendance to accept this award as a Small Business Climate Leader.
