An inverter is the component in the system that takes the direct current (DC) power generated by solar panels and converts it to alternating current (AC) power that is used by the outlets in your home or business and compatible with the power grid. Clean Solar only installs premium inverters for all of our customers. We feel the inverter is the most important component choice you will make and offer multiple options:
- Single inverters
- Single inverters with optimizers
Clean solar is a certified microinverter installer. Incorporating the innovation in power electronics and custom microchips, microinverters deliver high efficiency and more power. An individual microinverter is installed on each solar panel, where each panel performs mutually exclusive of the one next to it, making it ideal for roofs with shading issues.
There are many benefits to a microinverter system including:
- More kilowatt hour production
- Best and most detailed monitoring today
- Long Warranties
- Less power loss if any panels are under-producing
We choose to work with our micro-inverter partner from Enphase Energy.
Single string technology is time-tested as a proven, cost-effective technology for converting DC to AC power. When shading is not an issue on your roof a single inverter may be your best option. When there is shade on the roof from nearby trees or a chimney, microinverters are a better choice as single inverter arrays are arranged into series and parallel “strings,” and when shade covers any panel(s), energy production of the entire string suffers.
Benefits to a single inverter system include:
- Least expensive per watt
- Time-tested technology
- Transformerless with Emergency Daytime Power Supply
Clean Solar chooses to work with SMA and ABB: We believe they have the best reliability and customer service standings in the industry. If you have a preference, and the inverter fits our criteria, we will be happy to install the one of your choice.
Single Inverter with Optimizers
Benefits to a single inverter with optimizer system include:
- Less expensive per watt than a microinverter
- Optimizer life expectancy of 100+ years
- Backed by public company with billion $ market cap
We choose to work with SolarEdge for our single inverter systems with optimizers.
